Dear/ importers of food products
Asharqia Chamber presents its best greetings to you, and would like to inform you about receiving the letter of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (58452 / GS) on 26/9/1439 AH. It is noted that a technical team from the Authority visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan during the period from 29/7 to 8/8 /1439H (corresponding to 15-24 / 4/2018) in order to review the governmental procedures adopted by the General Organization for Food and Drug in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in controlling the entire food chain, for the purpose of approving the General Organization for Food and Drug Administration in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan by the Authority.
The Authority's approval of the technical team's recommendations to suspend import from the following establishments has been issued:
-Siniora Food Industries Co. (Unium)
-Al Thuraya Poultry Processing and Marketing Co. (Aljazeera chicken)
It is effective immediately until the correction of the observations of the technical team under the supervision of the regulatory body, and until the Authority is provided with a detailed technical report, documented reports, and photographs to correct the observations in order to consider the possibility wither to lift the suspension of the above establishments or not.
